Equivalent Modeling of Distributed Photovoltaic Clusters with Various Voltage Support Functions

Simulation serves as a crucial tool for analyzing the operational status of power grids. To address the challenges in high model complexity and long simulation time posed by large systems with numerous nodes, this paper proposes an equivalent modeling method tailored for distributed photovoltaic (PV) clusters. Targeting an effective voltage regulation, this method utilizes the embedded voltage support control strategy as a clustering index to distinguish between different PV systems. The Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering algorithm is then employed to obtain the clustering results of PV systems, and those within the same cluster are merged into one equivalent PV system, forming a multi-machine aggregated model. By comparing voltage support characteristics of the aggregated model with models obtained using alternative methods through simulation, the effectiveness of the proposed equivalent method is validated.
