Clamped-Coil Based Fractional-Order Capacitor for Constant Current Output in Wireless Power Transfer System

In wireless power transfer (WPT) systems, constant output is necessary in multiple scenarios. Fractional-order systems have received widespread attention due to their higher degrees of freedom. This paper proposes a novel WPT system based on a coil-clamped fractional-order capacitor (FOC). By adjusting the order of the proposed FOC, a controllable constant current (CC) output of WPT system can be achieved under coil misalignment and parameters detuning. Where the zero phase angle (ZPA) input characteristic of the inverter can be maintained. Thus, the system current stress and line loss will be effectively reduced. Finally, an experimental platform with an output current of 2A is established to validate the theoretical feasibility. The experiments demonstrate that when the coil misalignment distance reaches 20% of the coil length, the system maintains CC output.
