A Control Strategy of Energy Storage Converter for Suppressing Oscillations of Renewable Power Systems

The growing penetration of renewable energy sources has increased the risks of the wideband oscillations in the power systems. Energy storage converters can be utilized to suppress oscillations in the renewable power system. In this paper, an enhanced stability control approach of energy storage converter is proposed for suppressing oscillations in the renewable power systems. A renewable power system with energy storage unit is established in PSCAD/EMTDC to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
