Comparative Research on the Characteristics of Long Primary Double-sided Linear Induction Motor with Different Secondary Structures

In order to weaken the transverse end effect of long primary double-sided linear induction motor (LP-DSLIM), a ladder-type secondary is proposed to standardize the eddy current path in the secondary, reduce the influence of eddy current on the magnetic field of the air gap, increase the electromagnetic thrust, and reduce the thrust fluctuation. Based on the electromagnetic field theory, the two dimensional finite element model of the plate-type secondary and the ladder-type secondary is established and simulated. The thrust and thrust fluctuations generated by the ladder-type secondary LP-DSLIM with different primary and secondary slot combinations are analyzed under the transient field. The eddy current distribution and air gap magnetic field distribution of the plate-type secondary and ladder-type secondary are compared and analyzed. Through the finite element simulation analysis of linear motors, it provides a theoretical reference for the optimization design of subsequent motors.
