A Two-stage Non-isolated Pulsed Power Supply with Low Fluctuation of the Input Current for Low-Frequency Pulsed Loads

The pulsed power supply with low voltage output developed for the transmit and receive(T/R module) module has the low frequency pulsed load current. With the energy is powered by batteries, its output power is pulsed and input power is required to be constant. To balance the power difference and maintain a constant output voltage, the value of the storage capacitance on the output is usually very large. In this article, a Boost-Buck two-stage non-isolated pulsed power supply is introduced. The inter-media bus capacitor is used as the storage capacitor, and its voltage fluctuates in a large range to balance the power difference. Then, the relationship of storage capacitance value and the peak and valley of bus voltage is developed. In order to suppress the fluctuation of the input current, a double-loop control strategy based on load current feed-forward is proposed, and the load current feed-forward sampling method for pulse load output is optimized. Finally, a prototype of 1.5kW peak power output is assembled and tested to verify the correctness of the correlation analysis and the effectiveness of the control strategy.
