Review of Research Status of Efficient Gas Cooling Technology for Motors

Efficient cooling technology is the basis for suppressing motor temperature rise, improving motor operational stability and extending motor life. This paper summarizes the research status of efficient gas cooling technology for motors from two parts: efficient air cooling of small and medium-sized motors and efficient gas cooling of large motors, including enhanced natural convection air cooling, forced convection air cooling, heat exchanger cooling of large motors, hydrogen cooling, etc. It analyzes and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of various types of gas cooling technology and fields of application, focuses on the current research progress of air cooling technology at home and abroad. Finally, the development trend and key technologies of high-efficiency gas cooling technology for motors are summarized.
