Radial Rotation Angle Recognition of Wireless Power Transfer System for AUVs

To enhance the transmission performance of the autonomous underwater vehicle while charging on the inclusive charging platform, this paper proposes a wireless power transfer system that incorporates a radial rotation angle recognition function. Initially, an omnidirectional magnetic coupler is designed to facilitate efficient energy transmission across 360°. Subsequently, the equivalent circuit model of the LCC-S WPT system is analyzed, and the rotation angle recognition algorithm is introduced. Finally, prototypes are developed to validate the proposed system and algorithm. The system exhibits a DC-DC efficiency of 92.7% while transmitting 1.5 kW of power, and the rotation angle recognition algorithm demonstrates high precision.
