Finite-Control-Set Predictive Sliding Mode Control for LC-filtered Single-Phase Inverters

Sliding mode control (SMC) stands as a prominent control scheme for power converters, valued for its robustness, rapid dynamic response, and implementation simplicity. However, traditional SMC confronts challenges with chattering and practical limitations. This article introduces finite-control-set predictive sliding mode control (FCS-PSMC) for single-phase voltage source inverters (VSIs) with LC filters. To address chattering and bolster robustness, the quasi-sliding mode control (QSMC) method is amalgamated with the model predictive control (MPC) concept by formulating the cost function with the sliding surface function. Acknowledging the restricted switching state of single-phase converters, virtual voltage vectors are generated by evenly segmenting duty ratios. Simulations validates the performance of the proposed control strategy.
