Dual-band High Efficiency Class-E Power Amplifier Based on Explicit Impedance Matching

In the region of MHz wireless power transfer (WPT), a single power amplifier (PA) is sometimes required to drive systems operating at multiple frequencies. However, Class-E PAs which are commonly used for high-frequency WPT exhibit high sensitivity to changes in both load and frequency. Deviations from the design point can result in significant efficiency degradation. Addressing these challenges, this paper proposes a matching network design method capable of simultaneously achieving high efficiency at two different frequencies. The proposed design enables a Class-E PA to operate efficiently at 6.78 MHz and 13.56 MHz under load variations within the range of 10-50 Ω. The effectiveness of the design has been verified through simulation.
