1Improved IPMSM Rotor Position Estimation Method for Resolver Based on EKF Algorithm with Weighting Function

In Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor control, the accuracy of position sensors, such as resolvers, is essential. However, in practical application scenarios, the resolver's settling angle exhibits reduced errors under low-speed operating conditions, yet under high-speed conditions, various errors become more pronounced due to the influence of Electromagnetic Interference and mechanical vibrations. In order to address this challenge, this paper introduces a novel position estimation method that incorporates the concept of a weighting function into the traditional Extended Kalman Filter approach. The purpose of this weighting function is to account for situations where different errors occur under different working conditions. Through simulations using MATLAB Simulink, we evaluated the tracking performance and steady-state errors of various position estimation methods. The main objective was to validate the excellence among different algorithms under the same conditions, thereby paving the way for more efficient and reliable motor control applications.
