Research on Switched Reluctance Type of Electromagnetic Speed Regulating Motor and Its PWM Control Method

Combining the advantages of switched reluctance motor and electromagnetic speed regulating motor, a new type of speed regulating motor, switched reluctance electromagnetic speed regulating motor (SR-EMSRM), is proposed. The prime motor drives the outer rotor to rotate (base speed) through the coupling, provides excitation current to the excitation winding of the outer rotor, and generates high efficiency reluctance torque on the inner rotor. Instead of the low efficiency eddy current torque of the traditional electromagnetic speed motor, it drives the inner rotor and the load to rotate, and the inner rotor speed can be lower than, equal to or higher than the base speed, with the advantages of stepless speed regulation, wide speed regulation range and fast response speed. The mathematical model of SR-EMSRM is established, the PWM control method is studied, and the simulation and experiment are carried out.
