Cruise Controllers for General Lane-Free Driving Conditions

In this paper we present cruise controllers for automated vehicles with two-dimensional lane-free movement. The derived cruise controllers (feedback laws) are decentralized (per vehicle) and can account for collision avoidance, roads of variable width, on-ramps and off-ramps, as well as different desired speed for each vehicle. Demonstration examples and videos illustrate the cruise controller capabilities.
