Canva as a Didactic Resource to Encourage Creative Writing

In the 21st century, education is undergoing a series of changes and transformations, seeking new methods and strategies to improve teaching and learning in the classroom. Therefore, nowadays many didactic options and resources have been implemented to teach and learn through technology. The purpose of this paper is to propose the use of the technological tool Canva as a didactic resource to foster the development of creative writing skills through the planning of pedagogical activities that make its use possible. The methodology implemented included a qualitative and quantitative, non-experimental and descriptive approach. In addition, for the collection and analysis of the information, surveys were applied to 23 students of the seventh grade of basic general education aged 10 and 12 years old. Activities such as the creation of an autobiography using the Canva tool were used, then a survey was applied to the students to know their opinion about the use of Canva. In conclusion, the use of Canva as a didactic resource contributes to improve learning, allowing an active and creative participation, but always taking into account the teacher's guidance.
