Evolution of Digital Skills in ICT in the Educational and Business Fields

This article shows the evolution of ICT from its beginnings to the present, as well as its growing influence in the educational and business fields. The objective is to analyze the evolution of ICT and its progressive development in the educational and business sectors. A review of the academic literature and specialized sources on the subject was carried out through searches in electronic databases and the most relevant and recent studies were selected. Aspects such as the emergence of ICT, its evolution over time and its integration in the educational and business fields are considered. The outcomes achieved reveal that ICTs have undergone a notable evolution from their origin to the present. Initially, they were limited to basic data processing tools, but over time they have incorporated new functionalities and have become a fundamental part of our society. In the educational field, ICTs have transformed the way of teaching and learning. Likewise, they have allowed the creation of virtual learning environments and the development of new pedagogical methodologies. Meanwhile, in the business field, ICTs have changed the processes of communication and business management. They have optimized operational efficiency, facilitating data-driven decision-making; besides allowing the expansion of business through globalization and electronic commerce.
