UMCE Virtual Practicum Campus: Installation, Implementation and Challenges 2020 - 2023

The following document showcases the transformation experienced at Metropolitan University of Education Sciences (herein UMCE, the Spanish acronym) a pedagogical university in Santiago, Chile, specifically in the area of educational practicum processes. Since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019, a virtual practicum community was established, which now serves as a repository for e-portfolios, a student self-learning  area, and a self-training space for pre-service teachers and tutors,  among others. Currently, 90 percent of the university's programs actively participate in this virtual community. It is projected that by 2025, all undergraduate programs will be integrated into the virtual practicum community.
