Older Adults' Digital Skills: Content Validation for an Assessment Scale

Healthy aging consists of having the physical, mental and social capacity to participate in daily activities, maintain social relationships, be able to care for oneself and enjoy a full and meaningful life. In today's society, being competent in the use of ICT is an important requirement to achieve it. Given the lack of digital skills assessment tools focused on healthy aging, this study is carried out in which the process followed to validate a digital skills assessment scale for older adults is presented. Taking the healthy aging model as a reference, a series of elements focused on three competencies of the DigComp2.2 framework were formulated. The content validity of the battery of elements or items to be included in said scale was carried out with a panel of 20 experts. The basic statistics and the CVR obtained for each item were analyzed together with the qualitative evaluations offered by the participants. The results of the study made it possible to select the first items that will form part of the battery of elements of the new evaluation scale, as well as providing valuable information on the changes and modifications to be made on the rest that had not obtained sufficient scores.
