Emotion Recognition in ASD Students With Social Robotics: Case Study

In the modern world, ICT is of great importance in all areas of society. In education, robotics can provide a response to the diversity of students present in schools. In relation to this, the general objective of this study is to use social robotics, specifically the NAO robot, to improve the communication and social interaction of students with ASD, using Artificial Intelli- gence to recognise the emotions presented by the student. For this purpose, a NAO robot, several programming tools such as the Python programming language or the Choregraphe programme, several pictograms as complementary activities… have been used to carry out three activities in which the student with ASD must interact with NAO, paying attention to what it says while a programme that recognises emotions, using deepFace, captures the different states of mind for subsequent analysis. As a result, a series of figures have been obtained in which the probabilities and occurrences of emotions during the session are recorded
