Design of High-Temperature Gas Mixing Device Based on Tesla-Type Channel

The high-temperature gas mixing device is used to mix gases of different temperatures uniformly. The Tesla-type channel structure (TCS) has the potential to develop a high-temperature gas mixing device for its simple design and unique flow method. This paper uses pressure drop and temperature mixing inhomogeneity as characteristic parameters to evaluate the mixing efficiency of high-temperature gas mixing devices. The numerical models with different inner curve radii, angles, and transition part lengths are constructed. The mixing performance influence of the TCS parameters is systematically investigated to obtain better mixing efficiency. The results indicated that the TCS parameters have various effects on the mixing efficiency. A small angle and small transition part length but a middle inner curve radius is an effective way to improve the mixing efficiency. This work can provide a reference for the further application of the TCS in high-temperature gas mixing devices.
