Modeling Analysis and Experimental Research of Reversing Amplification Mechanism Based on Flexure Hinge

The transmission mechanism is a critical component of a mechanical system, and its transmission accuracy, amplification ratio, and flexibility greatly influence the performance of the overall system. For the functional requirements of a mechanical system with displacement amplification and direction change, this study propose a new design for a reversing amplification mechanism with high transmission accuracy, no loop back stroke, and fast response speed based on the two-level lever flexure hinge mechanism. To verify the feasibility of the design, the amplification ratio model is established and verified by the finite element method. The flexibility coefficient and dynamic characteristics of the mechanism are analyzed by simulating and experimenting with different input forces and materials. The results show that the proposed mechanism has a transmission ratio of -3.2184 with a low error of 1.82%, and a flexibility coefficient of 0.03614 μm/N for 45 steel with an error of 6.36%. The flexibility coefficient is inversely proportional to the Young's modulus of the material. The proposed mechanism can provide a theoretical and technical basis for precision transmission systems and has potential applications in mechanical systems that need displacement amplification and direction change.
