Current Harmonic Analysis of Parameter Mismatch in Model Predictive Current Control of PMSM

The current harmonics of the PWM inverter will cause the torque ripple, which is an important reason for the high-frequency vibration and noise of the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). Model Predictive Control (MPC) improves the dynamic performance of the electrical machines, and can achieve multi-objective optimum control of parameters including torque ripple, switching frequency and power loss, etc. However, the control performance of MPC depends on the accurate PMSM's parameters. In this paper, the influence of model parameter mismatch on phase current harmonics in the model predictive control of PMSM is analyzed. -axis current prediction is investigated respectively. Finally, a simulation model of a surface-mounted PMSM controlled by MPCC is built to examine the impact of the model parameter error on the phase current's Total Harmonic Distortion (THD).
