A Method of Simulating Weightless Fluid by U-Tube

This paper briefly introduces two types of methods to realize weightlessness simulation and summarizes the characteristics of these methods with examples. For the field of weightless fluid research, a new method is proposed. It is used to create a weightless flow field by the regular motion of gas-driven fluid in U-tube. The fluid motion law in the U-tube is theoretically and modeled. The calculated results were analyzed with MATLAB solution for the given parameters and CFD modeling simulations were performed for the corresponding parameters based on VOF model of FLUENT. The simulation results show that the fluid in the simulated flow field achieves weightlessness effect with 37%. This provides a new way of implementation for the study of simulated weightless fluid effect, which is hoped to provide reference and help for technical personnel studying microgravity fluids or cellular microgravity effect and related fields.
