Structure Design and Performance Study of Piezoelectric Direct Drive High Speed On/off Valve

Improving the dynamic response speed of the high speed on/off valve by structure or control strategy has some limits, due to the influence of electromagnetic hysteresis and mechanical hysteresis. In view of the advantages of large output force and high frequency response of piezoelectric stack materials, a new configuration of the axial stack radial nested piezoelectric direct drive high speed on/off valve is proposed and designed. Based on the analysis of the structure and working principle of the piezoelectric high speed on/off valve, the mathematical model of the piezoelectric high speed on/off valve is established, and the multi-physical field coupling simulation model of the piezoelectric high speed on/off valve is built by MATLAB / Simulink. The effects of different oil supply pressure, spool diameter, and half cone angle of the spool on the characteristics of the piezoelectric high speed on/off valve are studied, optimizing and determining the optimal design structural parameters of the piezoelectric high speed on/off valve. The simulation results indicate that the piezoelectric high speed on/off valve has good dynamic and static characteristics, compared with the electromagnetic high speed on/off valve, in which the opening time of the spool is 0.55ms, the closing time of the spool is 0.5ms, and the output flow rate is 4.28L/min at oil supply pressure of 4MPa. The research results not only provide new principles and methods for the design of high frequency high speed on/off valves, but also expand the development and application of piezoelectric stack materials in digital hydraulic technology and other fields.
