Study on Cavitation Characteristics of Axial Triangular Groove Throttle Valve Based on Fluent

Cavitation of throttle valve will cause material damage, vibration and noise of the system. In this paper, based on Fluent, the pressure, velocity and gas phase volume fraction of axial triangular groove throttle valve under different valve openings and different inlet and outlet pressure differences were numerically analyzed. The results show that the cavitation area of the throttle valve mainly occurs at the chamfer of the throttle core and the valve body. Under the same valve opening, the cavitation area and the maximum atmospheric phase volume fraction increase with the increase of inlet and outlet pressure difference. When the throttle valve is at a small opening, the cavitation intensity is stronger, and the inlet and outlet pressure difference has little influence on the cavitation intensity. Under the same inlet/outlet pressure difference, the maximum atmospheric phase volume fraction decreases first and then increases with the valve opening increasing, and reaches the minimum when the valve opening is 1.5mm, and the cavitation intensity is the weakest.
