Energy Efficiency Analysis of the Pre-cooling Air Compressor System

Air compressor is an important source of energy consumption in industrial production, and improving the energy efficiency is an effective strategy for promoting energy conservation and reducing emissions. The energy consumption of air compressors increases with the working temperature. Incorporating a pre-cooling component in the air compressor system can help to precool and dehydrate the input air, thereby reducing the inlet temperature, humidity and compression temperature rise. This optimization will contribute to improve compression efficiency and therefore reduce energy consumption. In this study, we describe the design and operation of a pre-cooling air compressor system and develop a thermodynamic model for the air precooling-compression coupling loop, discussing the impact of refrigerating temperature and humidity on system operation. Furthermore, we also investigate and compare the effects of the precooling method on the performance of the air compressor system in different regions and seasons, providing a reference for the energy-saving optimization design and practical application of enhanced air compressor technology.
