Neuroscience Insights: Unleashing Empathy in Higher Education Management

Over the past two decades, with the continuous advancement of neuroimaging techniques and the development of neuroscience, there has been a positive impact on higher education management. Research outcomes in neuroscience, such as mirrorneurons, neurotransmitters, inter-brain synchronization, and neural plasticity, have made empathetic understanding and feeling a possibility, offering numerous insights both theoretically and technically. Empathy refers to the perception, understanding, and experience of another's emotional state and thoughts. Empathy plays a crucial role in the practice of higher education management, and research on empathy among higher education managers is gradually gaining attention from scholars. This study categorizes and synthesizes definitions of empathy, clarifying the concept of empathy in organizational management. Through experiential learning of empathy, it is possible to help visitors activate and reshape positive neural circuits. Higher education managers need to proactively study neuroscience, continuously update professional knowledge, promote professional growth, and maintain the advancement and scientific nature of higher education work.
