Energy Consumption Characteristics and Energy Saving Control of Parallel Digital Valves and its System

Parallel digital valves-controlled systems have great energy-saving potential due to more control freedom, but there is throttling loss during digital valve switching and parallel digital valves state switching, which restricts the energy efficiency of the system. Therefore, the throttling energy consumption model with the gradual change of the orifice area under different operating modes are established, and the energy consumption characteristics during different switching state of parallel digital valves are analyzed by simulation. On this basis, the low-power switching control principle for parallel digital valves and the energy recovery strategy with an accumulator are proposed for energy saving. The experiment results show that the energy recovery strategy with an accumulator could recover 49.6% energy with 85.8% energy recycling rate, namely 42.6% energy recovery efficiency.
