Spectroscopic System for Rapid Detection of Emamectin Benzoate in Cabbage

Currently, the widespread use of chemicals in farming [1] and processing of agricultural and aquatic products and food is creating a lot of anxiety for consumers due to extremely dangerous consequences to human health. Emamectin benzoate is one of the pesticides widely used for many crops. Depending on the concentration and dosage, it can cause sore throat, cyanosis, etc., more dangerous, it can cause damage to the kidneys, the liver, nervous system, and other organ systems [2]. Therefore, in this study, we develop an inexpensive spectroscopic system to monitor the spectral changes of agricultural products, namely cabbage containing emamectin benzoate and clean cabbage. The system has been developed based on the use of a CD spectrometer to analyze the light spectrum obtained from the cabbage solution in the presence of chemicals and without passing through the CD spectrometer. The results of testing 12 samples of vegetable juice solution, including 1 sample without chemicals and 11 samples containing different concentrations of emamectin benzoate through spectroscopy showed that there were differences from which it is possible to recognize the existence of emamectin benzoate in cabbage, especially in the two wavelength ranges from 640 - 670 nm and from 760 - 800 nm. Experimental results on the spectrum show that the system has detected the difference in the wavelength distribution of the color light bands clearly in the two cases. In the future, we will focus on research and experiment on many samples of agricultural products and optimize the system to bring higher accuracy.
