Transit Stops in a Developing Country: Unraveling Challenges and Complexities

Transit stops play a key role in the public transport system. If designed properly, it can attract more people to public transport. Carefully planned and appropriately built transit stops facilitate integration between different modes of public transport, allow passengers to safely access public transportation, and reduce the effort required to access transit. The purpose of this work is to highlight certain challenges and issues associated with existing transit stops in a developing country, recognizing that these are special cases. The findings of this work can inform future transit stop designs and policies, ultimately improving public transportation efficiency and user experience.
