Advancements and Insights in Autoclaved Aerated Concrete: A Comprehensive Review in Sustainable and Resilient Structural Design

This paper presents an overview of the history, structural performance, durability, resiliency, sustainability, and construction of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC). The primary strengths of AAC are its thermal performance, fire resistance, versatility in construction, and other lightweight properties. Some potential challenges with autoclaved aerated concrete include its naturally lower strength and permeability, making it important to consider water penetration issues. Other properties of AAC are discussed, and future work is included.
