Flood Plain Analysis by using ArcSWAT and HEC-RAS -A Case study

This paper presents an estimate of discharge for a stream section. Surface runoff is a significant part of the hydrological cycle and a key source of energy that meets human requirements. Therefore, controlling this becomes crucial, and it may be done by conserving water and soil at certain scales, such as watersheds. Due to the presence of water, most social and economic activity centres around river banks or flood plains. It becomes imperative to keep them dry during flooding. A portion of Bennihalla submerged in the Krishna Basin is prone to flooding, resulting in extensive land damage, loss of life, and property damage. Therefore, an attempt has been made to estimate the yearly discharge rate in the current research.
