Assessing the Web-Based Learning Behavior of Indian Students: A Study Utilizing the Technology Acceptance and Adoption Model

The primary aim of this research is to delve into the patterns of online education adoption among students and gain insights into their behaviors. The study seeks to gain a deeper understanding of students' perspectives on online learning and identify the significant barriers that could potentially hinder its acceptance among university students. Given the current global pandemic, online learning has emerged as the predominant mode of education delivery, particularly in developing countries like India, where it has offered increased flexibility and effectiveness. To address the research requirements, secondary data analysis was conducted, and primary data were collected for in-depth analysis. The data analysis was carried out using the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) methodology within the SPSS software. The study involved university students from Punjab State who completed questionnaires, resulting in a sample of 197 respondents. Consequently, it is reasonable to anticipate a significant increase in the adoption of online education in the future, with the availability of quality learning materials and effective delivery methods emerging as the two primary challenges. Furthermore, the study underscores the noteworthy impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the widespread adoption of virtual learning. Consequently, this research serves as a diagnostic tool, aiding in the identification of both the advantages and disadvantages of the higher education e-learning phase. The insights derived from this study will equip Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with valuable tools to assess their current status and formulate future management strategies.
