Revolutionizing Malaysian Healthcare System by Harnessing the Power of IoT

For many years, Malaysia has been striving and putting forth the utmost endeavor to achieve an accessible healthcare service for the whole nation. Efforts such as public-private partnerships between hospitals, affordability, and cultural and linguistic diversity have been made by the government to promote Malaysia as a top destination for medical tourism. Yet, there are still issues that are left to be deciphered. With technologies moving at a rate of knots, Malaysia seems to lag when it comes to implementing computational power into industries, mainly healthcare, which is the focus of this research paper. The investigation carried out in this paper contains discussions in Malaysia about current digital challenges in the healthcare sector, such as low healthcare service quality in rural areas, a lack of data healthcare standardization, and resistance to change among people who are not tech-savvy or are elderly. Next, this article provides an overview of Internet of Things (IoT) practices and how they relate to investment and employment prospects in Malaysia. This paper also presents two similar systems of IoT implementation in the Malaysian healthcare sector, with challenges and considerations when it comes to the implementation of IoT.
