Experiences and Lessons Learned from Load Modelling for and Applications to Taiwan Power Systems

This paper presents the experiences and lessons we have learned from load modelling for and applications to Taiwan power systems. First, a concise description of load modelling process is briefed. The description contains introduction to load models, modelling methodologies and also parameters identifications. Second, applying modelled loads to Taiwan power systems analyses are examined. These analyses cover transient stability critical clearing time (CCT), small signal stability, and voltage stability. Finally, experiences and lessons learned from modelling loads for and applying to Taiwan power systems are summarised in eleven recommendations. It is our wish that these eleven recommendations can help power engineers and researchers to circumvent load modelling pitfalls.
