Unveiling the Potential: DJ-2D/3D Perovskite materials for Next-Generation Solar Cells

The Dion-Jacobson (DJ) structure has harvested substantial interest in the photovoltaic (PV) sector because of its remarkable characteristics, which include large bandgaps, cheap cost, and high-power conversion efficiency (PCE). This analysis takes into consideration the DJ-2D/3D structure, which has already been published. The investigation of DJ-2D/3D PSCs through changes in accepter density (NA) and thickness is the focus of this work. The simulations used in this work are performed using the solar cell capacitance simulator (SCAPS-1D). TiO2 is regarded as the electron transport layer (ETL) and Spiro-OMeTAD as the hole transport layer (HTL) because to its high electron or hole mobility and conductivity. The device's two layers of (FA0.85 MA0.15)Pb(I0.85Br0.15) are regarded as its active layers. The primary goal of the research is to maximize the number of photons absorbed from solar radiation. The maximum thickness value and the greatest accepter density value both indicate the maximum PCE. Consequently the optimized results of the DJ-2D/3D based cells are as follows: FF: 88.7%, PCE: 23.09%, VOC: 1.27V, and JSC: 20.56mA/cm².
