Characteristics of Hexagonal Photonic Crystal Width Modulated Cavity Waveguide Structure

In this study, a two-dimensional silicon photonic crystal waveguide with cavity structure was designed, and its properties were investigated numerically. The cavity was formed at the centre of the structure by shifting the position of the air holes away from the barrier waveguide by 3 nm, 6 nm, and 9 nm. The bandgap analysis, E-field propagation, and cavity resonance of the structure were numerically simulated and analysed. The resonance peak wavelength at 1594.25 nm with Q-factor of 4 × 10
