Equipment Monitoring In Manufacturing using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)

Digitalization and IoT use are important in a post-Covid world where remote labor is the new norm. Nowadays, the majority of production environments have prioritized raising productivity and competitiveness. More knowledge about resource locations and better production/assembly line management are necessary for the most efficient utilization of labor and materials. Managers in production and assembly lines may make data-driven choices thanks to automatic equipment monitoring. One such technology that effectively monitors resource movement and enhances production/assembly line performance and safety is Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). BLE technology is not widely used in manufacturing set-ups as of now. The purpose of this study is to identify the production/assembly line wastes that are most important and to demonstrate how BLE technology can be used for equipment monitoring. A framework for maximizing technology and cutting waste is put forth.
