From Connectivity to Prosperity: Government Initiatives for Malaysia’s Success in IoT

This paper illustrates Malaysia’s legislative efforts aimed at integrating the ubiquity of computing and the Internet of Things (IoT). The National Strategy on Ubiquitous Computing demonstrates the country’s dedication to utilising technology to foster productivity, improved governmental services, and industry-wide development. To enable data-driven ubiquitous gadgets, expenditure on upgraded wireless infrastructure, particularly 5G, is prioritised. Collaboration endeavours, such as the National Ubiquitous Computing facility, promote collaboration across companies, educational institutions, and authorities, therefore promoting investigation, imaginative thinking, and real-world uses. Malaysia has enacted the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) to preserve peoples’ private information in terms of integrity and security. Cybersecurity courses and internet security precautions are being emphasised further to create confidence in the use of omnipresent technologies. This study emphasises Malaysia’s strategic aim of fostering an IoT-driven future by creating a potential ecosystem.
