Leveraging Ubiquitous Computing for Solving the Labour Crisis in the Agriculture Sector

The integration of ubiquitous computing technologies, driven by the Internet of Things (IoT) and data analytics, delivers an evolutionary solution to Malaysia's agricultural labour shortage challenge. This study investigates the potential of ubiquitous computing to transform farming practices, increase production, and contribute to the nation's economy. The study emphasises the agricultural sector's labour shortage difficulties, which are compounded by factors such as migration trends and the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic. The paper discusses the basic principles and components of ubiquitous computing through a thorough assessment of the idea, emphasising its ability to smoothly incorporate computing technology into numerous agricultural processes. The study emphasises how the implementation of ubiquitous computing, which includes IoT devices, sensors, cloud computing, and data analytics, can result in reduced labour, increased efficiency, and good economic consequences. Meanwhile, the security and technical concerns are addressed, and case studies demonstrate effective examples of agriculture automation, precision farming, and resource optimisation.
