Mediating Role of Self-Perceived Mental Health in Linking the Work-Life Balance with Job Satisfaction

The main objective of the current study is to examine the association between work-life balance and job satisfaction. For this study, data is gathered from 516 police personnel from the Haryana state in India using a structured survey. To assess the psychometric features of the instrument and to analyze the data, PLS-SEM is used. According to the PLS-SEM findings, job satisfaction is favourably correlated with work-life balance, self-perceived mental health is positively associated with job satisfaction, and self-perceived mental health has a partial mediating effect on the association of work-life balance with job satisfaction. The present study is susceptible to common method biases and social desirability because it is based on self-reported measurements. However, sufficient measures are taken to lessen these constraints. According to the report of the current study, employers must comprehend the significance of work-life balance in order to achieve job satisfaction and should implement various programs to improve work-life balance. The current work is supposed to add to the welfare of society by recognizing the relevance of job satisfaction. This study sheds fresh light upon the impacts of Work-Life Balance on Job satisfaction through self-perceived mental health a mediating variable. This is the first theoretical framework established and verified of its type on Indian police personnel.
