Optimal Controller Design for Load Frequency Control of Two Area Power System

It is well established that the load frequency control (LFC) plays a key role for the efficient use of the power system. In this work optimal state feedback controller is designed using full order observer technique for LFC of Two Area Power System (TAPS). Both identical power systems have brought together to make TAPS. The frequency deviation responses of plant with the designed controller is also compared with the controller deigned using linear quadratic regulator (LQR) for the same system in this work. The simulation results obtained in this work are found to be satisfactory.
