The Reliability and Credibility Evaluation of OBDM Subsystem by the Layered Dynamic Fault Tree Model

On-board Data Managing (OBDM) subsystem is one of the most critical subsystems of satellites, which frequently employs sophisticated redundancy/ reconfigurability to achieve higher reliability. For overcoming the limitation of the static fault tree model, this paper presents a novel method for the reliability and credibility evaluation of satellite OBDM subsystem through the layered dynamic fault tree (DFT) model. The critical hardware and software components are analyzed through a dynamic dependency model in order to obtain more accurate credibility and reliability of the satellite systems, and employs software tool RAATSS to simulate and analyze the reliability and credibility of OBDM subsystem for reliability growth.
