Voltage Regulation using Adaptive Reactive Power Droop Control based on Available Capacity of Electric Vehicle Fast Charging Stations

The growing popularity of electric cars has increased the need for efficient and high-powered fast charging stations that can be integrated with the existing power grid. Increasing the fast charging load cause issues to voltage regulation. This paper proposes a decentralized adaptive droop control approach to address voltage stability concerns during electric vehicle charging. The approach optimizes the utilization of reactive power capacity within multiple factors, ensuring efficient electric vehicle charging while maintaining grid stability. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, indicating improved voltage stability along feeder. This approach offers a promising solution to harmonize fast charging stations with grid systems for seamless and stable electric vehicle charging experiences.
