An Optimized Charging for EV using Numerical Method in Consideration of TOU

The government has established the rate Time of Use Tariff (TOU) to motivate people to use electricity at the time with low price. Due to some circumstances, some users cannot avoid charging during peak periods. Therefore, an optimized charging scheme has been established to reduce the cost of users charging each time by considering the SOC curve and charging power of the battery. Finally, a simulation compares the cost and charging time between typical charging and optimized charging, wherein the system calculates the cost and charging time of typical charging, and there is also an optimized charging option, which is cheaper but takes longer to charge. This allows users to manage charging times and prices and also can reduce power consumption in peak periods. In this research work, numerical analysis has been utilized for the optimization algorithm.
