Design and Development of P2P Negawatt Trading DApp with Blockchain

Negawatts-the reduction in demand-are fungible asset tradable for improved comfort and economic benefit of peers. Blockchain, the latest distributed ledger technology provides a decentralized way to record trading transactions based on consensus mechanism. In this article, a token-based hybrid market model for peer-to-peer negawatt trading is implemented as a decentralized application (DApp) running on Ethereum public blockchain. The development is carried out by integrating HTML based GUI via Web3 based client-side programming to the Solidity-based smart contract. Validation of the model is done using actual data, for the deployment on blockchain in Ganache. The results demonstrate economic benefit to the peers.
