Renewable Energy Generation for Cold Country Using TEG in Fire-Place

Energy plays a very important part in the development of a country and conventional fuel energy because fossil fuel is decreasing day by day but the demand is still thriving. Also, existing transmission and distribution line in various country faces many complications due to natural catastrophe. Especially in winter countries such as; Finland, Canada, the U.S.A., and Russia electricity flow is disrupted, causing power outages and blackouts due to snow and icing problems in the transmission line. Nowadays power generation using waste heat energy using a TEG module has become benevolent in such situations as in the fireplace enormous amount of heat energy drains. Gas-based fireplaces can generate heat from 8,000-60,000 BTUs and wood-burning-based fireplaces can generate heat of almost 20,000-40,000 BTUs. If this heat can be used to produce sufficient electricity, suffering like power outages and blackouts during snowy weather can be resolved considerably, and emergency low-power electrical appliances can be used. In this project, it is proposed that a new type of fireplace can generate power using the TEG-27145 module alongside an optimum connection of TEG modules to generate efficient power of 9W. Also, some methods to increase energy generation have been studied.
