Simulation Optimization of Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna Based on Pelican Optimization Algorithm

Based on the linkage between MATLAB and HFSS. In this paper, the Pelican Optimization Algorithm (POA) is used to optimize a rectangular microstrip patch antenna operating at 28 GHz for 5G communication. In the case of no algorithm optimization, using ANSYS HFSS simulation software simulation, the antenna return loss is -25.98dB, and the voltage standing wave ratio is 1.11. After using POA optimization, the return loss of the antenna is -35.47dB, and the voltage standing wave ratio is 1.03, the return loss is reduced by -9.49dB and the standing wave ratio is also reduced by 0.08. It is concluded that using POA optimize the size of rectangular patch antennas can be a better choice in communication.
