Flexible Ammonia Sensor using TiO2

Fabrication of electronic devices on flexible substrates is gradually increasing due to its wide range of applications, flexibility in the substrate facilitates to use the devices in a mechanically stressed environments. In this work, flexible devices are fabricated to sense the volatile organic compound like ammonia using Titanium oxide nanoparticles $\left(\mathrm{TiO}_{2}\right). \mathrm{TiO}_{2}$ nanoparticles are synthesized by using hydrolysis and then characterized by UV-visible spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) to get the material properties. Further, electrodes are deposited on the polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate with a channel length of 100 μm using the lift-off method. Then, the TiO
2
is deposited using a drop casting method to sense the ammonia gas. At room temperature devices detect minimum 50 ppm and performance is stable for three months.
