Fusion Techniques for Biomedical Image Reconstruction

Image fusion combines the common properties of two images, and it gives better visual quality when compared to individual images. Also, fusion of the images is very much important in the medical applications such as diagnosis of diseases. For biomedical diagnosis, fused images are providing better inference when compared to the single images such as CT and MRI images. In this paper, we use the CT and MRI based combined approach for image fusion. The fusion happens by combining these separate images by a various available methods such as discrete wavelet transform, discrete cosine transform. We present the comparative performance and analysis of these techniques used in biomedical image fusion. The results are presented are helpful in the diagnosis of various diseases.
