Assessing Mechanical Stress Effects on CoFeSiB Microwires: Modeling and Preliminary Characterization

In this study, we present a preliminary characterization of a CoFeSiB microwire in relation to its magnetization under varying mechanical stress. Leveraging a dedicated model and employing an inductive method, we investigated the response of induced voltage peaks concerning the applied stress levels. Additionally, we assessed the sample's behavior by utilizing a time-based parameter. For the explored transduction methods, we achieved −2.35 mV/GPa and 2 ms/GPa, respectively. These values agree with the results from the numerical model utilized. Ongoing investigations are concentrated on a further sample characterization and on the development of a prototypal device for mechanical stress sensing.
