Sampling errors with a small number of samples in the measurement interval

The paper presents an analysis of sampling of the measured signal when the number of samples in the measurement interval is small and at the same time the number of periods of the sinusoidal signal is small. The analysis shows that the number of samples in the measurement interval has the greatest influence on the error in the evaluation of the signal amplitude if only the duty cycle of the sampling pulse or the aperture time is smaller than the percentage of the sampling interval. The simulation analysis was carried out with a smaller number of signal periods in the measurement interval and was also confirmed on a real measurement system. The sampling error decreases inversely proportional to the number of samples, taking into account the rectangular window in the observation interval.
